some find religious viewpoints on the Mac Web so offensive?

- Sony just doesn't get it: The
digital Walkman can't compete with the iPod, Adam Robert Guha,
Apple Archive. The digital Walkman has enough drawbacks that is
simply won't be able to go head-to-head with Apple's market-leading
iPod.
- A dying modem, more on the dead
iBook, burning DVDs in OS 9, refurb quality, and more, Charles
Moore, Miscellaneous Ramblings. Also more on WallStreet screen
swaps, DVD burners the work with Panther, and getting OS 8.6 on a
blue and white without an 8.6 CD.
2006
- Adding 'lost' OS 9 features to Mac
OS X, Charles W Moore, Miscellaneous Ramblings. While OS X offers
a lot of things the classic Mac OS didn't, longtime Mac users may
miss some features of the Classic Mac OS not included with OS X. 7
programs to restore some of those features.
- Translucent gray box in OS X,
AFP connection problem in Classic stump Mac Daniel, Dan Knight,
Mac Daniel. One Mac has been displaying a gray box for months,
another started doing the same thing a week ago. And booting
Classic always results in a problem with AFP Connection
Status.
- Edu-iMac too compromised, Mac
Portables return to mothership, SheepShaver unstable, and more,
Dan Knight, Low End Mac Mailbag. Thoughts on the education iMac, the
Mac Portable, and the value of a Mac Plus in 2006. Also SheepShaver
feedback, OS X ligature problems, and MP3 software for OS 8.
2010
- MacBook pros
and cons: Leaving the past behind, John Hatchett, Recycled
Computing. Compared with PowerBooks, the MacBook provides a lot of
power, but it leaves behind FireWire and swapping batteries.
- On the road with a
Pismo and an iPad, part 2, Austin Leeds, Apple Everywhere. The
Pismo PowerBook, iPad, and MiFi remain useful, along with free WiFi -
and one motel still using ethernet for Web access.
2012
- Burn: A Free
Alternative to Toast, Simon Royal, Tech Spectrum. It's not as
sophisticated as Roxio Toast, but Burn does a great job burning data,
music, and video discs - and it's free.
